Decoy Vault for When Someone Demands Access

Set up a decoy vault with harmless photos and open it when someone demands to see your phone. With Pro, a duress pattern also cuts access to your other vaults.

Open the harmless one

Because every pattern opens its own vault, you can fill one with ordinary photos and open that one when someone insists on looking. It looks like a normal, complete vault.

Duress pattern (Pro)

With Hidlet Pro you can mark one vault as your duress vault. Drawing its pattern opens it as usual, and quietly removes this phone’s access to your other vaults. Your encrypted backup is not touched, so you can restore them later with their patterns or recovery phrases.

Think of it as a tool for moments like border checks, a controlling partner or a phone taken from you. It is not a guarantee against forensic analysis, and it does not replace legal advice.

Frequently asked questions

Can I undo a duress pattern?

Yes. Restore the other vaults from your encrypted iCloud backup, using their patterns or recovery phrases.

Is the decoy vault free?

Any extra vault can be used as a decoy on the free plan. The duress pattern that removes access to other vaults needs Pro.
